The Cunning Linguist cuenta la historia de M\u00f3nica, una joven mexicana que a los 12 a\u00f1os se da cuenta que Dios la hizo \u201cqueer\u201d. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lo que Monica ve como un honor, las personas cercanas a ella lo ven como algo incorrecto. Gracias a un programa de televisi\u00f3n, M<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00f3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nica decide mudarse a Toronto con Diosito a su lado, donde comienza a aprender m\u00e1s sobre s\u00ed misma, sobre la libertad y el sexo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>M<\/b><b>\u00f3<\/b><b>nica Garrido<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> es una artista, cineasta, escritora, productora, directora, comediante y performer mexicana basada en Toronto, que usa la comedia como una herramienta y un escudo para expresarse.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sus cortometrajes \u00abDiferente\u00bb y la comedia de terror \u00abLove You to Death\u00bb han sido parte del LGBT Festival Inside Out. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00f3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nica forma parte del elenco de \u201cSketch Comedy Extravaganza Eleganza\u201d , show ganador de un Canadian Comedy Award. En el 2018 M<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00f3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nica recibi\u00f3 el \u201cQueer Emerging Artist Award\u201d de Buddies in Bad Times Theatre.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ella es un tercio del grupo Latinx Drag King Boyband y actualmente es copresentadora y coproductora de \u201cMerendiando, parte de Radio Aluna Theatre. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00f3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nica es Tauro y te desea lo mejor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Beatriz Pizano <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Directora)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">es una destacada directora y escritora teatral, con m\u00e1s de veinte a\u00f1os de experiencia trabajando como actriz en teatro, cine y televisi\u00f3n. En el 2009 el Consejo para las Artes de Canad\u00e1 otorg\u00f3 a Beatriz el prestigioso premio John Hirsch en Direcci\u00f3n Teatral. Beatriz ha sido galardonada con varias becas y premios, entre ellos: el premio de direcci\u00f3n Ken McDougall, la beca Chalmers, el premio Urjo Kareda (en Tarragon Theatre) y la beca para las artes esc\u00e9nicas de la Fundaci\u00f3n Metcalf. Ha sido Directora Art\u00edstica Asociada en Theatre Revolve y Nightwood Theatre. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Su trilog\u00eda de obras sobre la mujer y la guerra: For Sale, Madre, y La Comuni\u00f3n, recibi\u00f3 tres nominaciones para el premio Dora Mavor Moore a la Mejor Obra Original. Beatriz tambi\u00e9n ha creado y dirigido m\u00faltiples programas para j\u00f3venes en Colombia y Canad\u00e1.
